- Activator CliMicrosoftOfficialCreates and inspects Fabric Activator (Reflex) alerts: rules, their data sources, conditions, and the Teams or email action they fire, plus decoding an existing ReflexEntities definition. Choose it whenever someone wants to be told, or something done, when values cross a threshold. The pipeline delivering those values is eventstream-cli.
- Azmon Mirroredcatalogs Operations CliMicrosoftOfficialBrings Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics telemetry into Fabric as Eventhouse external delta tables and correlates it with business data. Use to onboard observability data, judge whether latency or availability affected revenue, or build a Real-Time dashboard and Operations Agent over it.
- Databricks MigrationMicrosoftOfficialPorts existing Databricks notebooks and jobs to Fabric, covering dbutils to notebookutils, secret scopes to Key Vault, DBFS to OneLake, Unity Catalog mapping to schema-enabled Lakehouses, Jobs and Delta Live Tables to Spark Job Definitions and Pipelines, and Photon to the Native Execution Engine. Use whenever Databricks code has to be converted.
- Dataflows CliMicrosoftOfficialManages Fabric Dataflow Gen2 items, including creation, M editing, connections, output destinations, getDefinition and updateDefinition inspection, executeQuery, refresh history, and Gen1-to-Gen2 save-as upgrades via saveAsNativeArtifact. Use for Dataflow items or Power Query M definitions. For pipeline JSON use pipeline-migration; for Spark or Warehouse transformations use their own skills.
- Deployment Pipelines Authoring CliMicrosoftOfficialManages Fabric deployment pipelines for ALM promotion across dev, test, and prod stages, including stage creation, workspace assignment, selective forward or backward deploys, operation polling, stage role assignments, and the pipeline and workspace permissions each action requires. For Git sync use git-integration-operations-cli.
- E2e Fabric Cost EstimationMicrosoftOfficialEstimates Fabric capacity cost before a migration by profiling Spark, SQL, Power BI, and Real-Time workloads, then recommending SKU size and comparing Reserved, Pay-As-You-Go, and Autoscale billing. Use only for capacity sizing and pricing questions, not for general migration or connectivity work.
- E2e Medallion ArchitectureMicrosoftOfficialPlans and builds end-to-end Fabric data platforms on the Bronze, Silver, and Gold medallion pattern: ingestion to analytics, PySpark and Delta layers, pipeline orchestration, per-layer Spark tuning, Materialized Lake View versus notebook choices for Silver and Gold, and Direct Lake handoff. Use for layered architecture design, planning and recommendations.
- Eventhouse CliMicrosoftOfficialAuthors and queries Fabric Eventhouse and KQL databases: tables, functions, policies, materialized views, ingestion, and read-only KQL for real-time and time-series analytics. All KQL database work belongs here, table creation and simple queries included. An Eventstream item is eventstream-cli; an Event Schema Set is eventschemaset-cli.
- Eventschemaset CliMicrosoftOfficialGoverns Event Schema Sets, the Fabric registries of event types and message payload schemas. Covers create, rename, update and delete of a definition, and listing, property reads or base64 decoding. Every Event Schema Set task belongs here. Ingestion pipelines are eventstream-cli.
- Eventstream CliMicrosoftOfficialOwns Fabric Eventstream items end to end: sources, operators, destinations, routing, retention, throughput and connection strings, plus read-only topology checks. Pick it for anything that names an Eventstream, creating and listing included. Where the rows finally land is eventhouse-cli.
- FabriciqMicrosoftOfficialAnswers natural-language business questions over existing Power BI reports and semantic models through the FabricIQ MCP endpoint, discovering artifacts, resolving entities, generating the DAX itself, and returning a plain-language answer. Use when the user asks a data question, including one that says to query the model directly.
- Fabriciq Ontology CliMicrosoftOfficialManages Fabric IQ Ontology items, including entity and relationship types, data bindings, and definition updates, plus schema, lineage, grounding, and graph-walk exploration. Use for ontology modelling and traversal. For natural-language questions over a Power BI report use fabriciq.
- Git Integration Operations CliMicrosoftOfficialRuns the Fabric Git integration lifecycle through fab api or az rest, including connecting a workspace to Azure DevOps or GitHub, committing, updating from Git, reading sync status, resolving conflicts, disconnecting a connected workspace, and automating sync with a service principal. For stage promotion use deployment-pipelines-authoring-cli.
- Hdinsight MigrationMicrosoftOfficialPorts HDInsight Spark and Hive workloads to Fabric, converting HiveContext and SparkContext to SparkSession, WASB and ABFS paths to OneLake shortcuts, Hive DDL to Delta tables in a Lakehouse, and Oozie coordinators and actions to pipeline activities and triggers. Use when the source workload is HDInsight.
- Onelake Catalog Govern CliMicrosoftOfficialGoverns Microsoft Fabric OneLake catalog health, protection, and trust through Fabric Admin, Core, and Power BI REST APIs. Use for tenant or owner-scoped audits and guarded remediation of domains, workspace assignment, capacity, labels, tags, descriptions, refresh, and item identity. Catalog item discovery belongs to search-consumption-cli.
- Pipeline MigrationMicrosoftOfficialMigrates Synapse Data Factory pipelines to Fabric Data Factory, turning linked services into Fabric connections, inlining datasets into activities, converting global parameters to Variable Libraries, and mapping SynapseNotebook to TridentNotebook. Use for pipeline JSON. For Synapse Spark notebook code use synapse-migration.
- Powerbi Report CliMicrosoftOfficialPlan, design, author, preview, publish, and manage Power BI reports across requirements, page design, local PBIR/PBIP edits, validation, screenshots, Fabric upload/download, and rebinding. Use for report lifecycle work; use semantic-model-authoring for model or DAX changes and fabriciq for data questions.
- Project OsmosMicrosoftOfficialOrchestrate Project Osmos for long-running Fabric and OneLake data-engineering outcomes, including task status, messages, follow-ups, cancellation, and deletion. Osmos tasks are remote service tasks, not local background agents. In Fabric portal Copilot, direct interaction is unsupported; point users to GitHub Copilot CLI. Use spark-cli for direct non-Osmos Spark work.
- Search Consumption CliMicrosoftOfficialFinds Fabric items across every workspace with the Catalog Search API when the workspace is unknown, locating an item by display name, inventorying one item type tenant-wide, and returning the workspace and item IDs later calls need. Dataflow Gen1 and Gen2 items are not supported.
- Semantic Model AuthoringMicrosoftOfficialManages Power BI semantic models, including tables, columns, measures, relationships, field parameters, DAX, Import, DirectQuery and Direct Lake designs, sources, connections, permissions, refresh, and deployment. Load this skill before acting on a semantic model, unless it is part of publishing a PBIP project, which powerbi-report-cli owns.
- Spark CliMicrosoftOfficialManages Fabric Spark work, including notebook cell code with %%configure, %%sql, PySpark and notebookutils, named notebook runs, Livy sessions, triage of failed or OOM notebook and pipeline Spark runs, and the Materialized Lake View (MLV) lifecycle. Load it before writing MLV SQL, since CREATE MATERIALIZED LAKE VIEW and its CONSTRAINT clause are Fabric-only.
- Sqldb CliMicrosoftOfficialManages a Fabric SQL database item, the OLTP SQL Server engine, including running T-SQL through sqlcmd, temporal and vector similarity search, schema and sys.tables inspection, dacpac deployment, and Query Store, blocked sessions and regressed-plan investigation. Use for any query or change against a SQL database item. Warehouse, lakehouse SQL endpoint and mirrored items belong to sqldw-cli.
- Sqldw CliMicrosoftOfficialManage Fabric Warehouse, Lakehouse SQL endpoints, and Mirrored Databases: DDL/DML, COPY INTO, read-only T-SQL, Query Insights diagnostics, and Capacity Metrics CU-spike correlation. Synapse migration target SQL belongs to synapse-migration; Fabric SQL database belongs to sqldb-cli.
- Synapse MigrationMicrosoftOfficialConverts Synapse workspaces to Fabric: Spark items, Lake Databases, Linked Services, and Dedicated SQL Pool schema/procedures for Lakehouse or Warehouse. During Pool-to-Lakehouse migration only, can migrate approved dependent procedure callers after notebook readiness. Excludes standalone pipelines and Warehouse administration.
- Variable Library CliMicrosoftOfficialManages Fabric Variable Library items, including definitions, libraryVariables and valueSets overrides. Covers which consumers can reference a variable and with what syntax -- pipelines, notebooks via notebookutils variableLibrary, Dataflow Gen2, Copy Jobs, shortcuts, UDFs and Plan items -- the active value set per workspace or deployment stage, and Git serialization for CI/CD.
